As in a Greek tragedy, or maybe more precisely in a Hollywood film, where the positions seem impossible to reconcile, Previdi stages a series of equally painful alternatives, coexisting in the very body of the work. To exit this impasse, to resolve with one stroke the apparently irresolvable opposition of contradictions, what is needed then is the action of a deus ex machina. As in a classic Hollywood plot, what better salvation could there be than relying on the innocence of childhood to write: “WHAT NEXT”?
